Principal History

Jerry L. Brown, PMP is the principal and founder of Project Methods, Inc., a project management consulting firm. Mr. Brown has been a project management consultant since 1991 receiving his Project Management Institute Certification as a Project Management Professional in 1992. He was recently Vice President and CFO of an international training organization that grew over 400% in gross sales during the 5 years of his leadership. That organization, in expanding its product offering to meet clients’ customized needs, also expanded its professional staffing and built organizational infrastructure and systems to identify and respond to the immediate needs of clients. He also initiated and managed the creation of two additional corporate organizations for the organization. After 24 years in banking and finance, achieving the title of Vice President of Commercial Loans, Mr. Brown then started and later sold two businesses after each exceeded its sales and growth projections. Following these successes, he went on to become a Project Management consultant. Mr. Brown, who graduated from Ohio State University, has had post graduate study in finance, communication, adult learning and law and has received numerous civic and professional awards. As a consultant, he draws on his diverse experiences and acquired skills to help clients identify that all projects have ultimate cause and effect on corporate capital allocation and that all projects influence the success of the corporate body. Project Methods, Inc. specializes in transferring core competencies that comprise the discipline of Project Management to adults in the workplace. This is accomplished by using experienced skilled professionals to: first, identify the client’s needs and requests, second, create the environment for effective mentoring, and third, affect individual and corporate change that results in improved project performance. The organization supports its clients in all aspects of managing projects by establishing relationships that foster trust and confidence in quick decisive recommendations and actions. Mr. Brown has been published in several journals and news publications and has been invited to repeat as a presenter and speaker at the PMI Annual Seminars and Symposium.
